I’m not too sure where this blog is going, but I’m not too sure where I’m going either. I am sure of this: the only way to get better at something is by doing it. I want to be a better writer, so this is where I’m going to do it.

My name is Tyler Burgese* and I am 20 years old. I grew up in New Jersey and spent the last two years living in Southern California. I had the incredible opportunity to study the performing arts and music education with an organization called The Young Americans. With this college program I was able to travel while performing and teaching music in Germany, Poland, Japan, England, Ireland, and Scotland for a total of 7 months. It was such a unique way to see the world and connect with others, and the memories and friends from that period of my life are some of my nearest and dearest. I now live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This blog will be a glorious dumping ground of everything that is me: a sort of unified time capsule of what I’m thinking, who I’m learning from, what I’m eating, where I’m going, and what I’m creating. I’ve agonized for so long over a theme or niche to focus in on, but I never want to be defined or confined by just one thing. This may be because I’m indecisive, or I may just be subconsciously spreading myself among so many different passions as if they are horcruxes that will make me live longer. Only time will tell, I suppose.

You can find my on social media @tburgese. And by social media, I mean Twitter and Instagram. I think the rest are stupid. You can also find my writing in Underground Sparks Magazine, Créer Magazine, and on my favorite travel blogShut Up and Go. If you have something to say/contribute, or just want to chat, please feel free to fill out a contact form and we will be in touch!
